Hillcrest School Building Goals 2021-2022

Domain 4:  Equity & Cultural Responsiveness (NJPEPL Rubric)
MSD Professional Learning Focus 3: Equity and Inclusion Action Plan
Focus: To provide professional development and ongoing support to the Hillcrest staff and students in exploring equity and inclusion.  This goal aligns to the Morris School District’s Equity and Inclusion Action Plan.
Rationale: During the 2021-2022 school year, Hillcrest School is committed to creating an inclusive school community  that supports and encourages all stakeholders to celebrate their uniqueness around their culture, holidays and traditions. A team of staff members from Hillcrest School will attend district-based professional development to establish sub goals to implement throughout the school year.
Smart Goal: By June 2022, the following will be noted on creating an inclusive environment  at Hillcrest School: Homeroom classes will effectively participate in activities celebrating our uniqueness as a school community.

Math Ready Classroom
Domain 2: Curriculum & Assessment (NJPEPL Rubric)

MSD Professional Learning Focus 1: Authentic Assessments and Engaging Instructional Practices Ready Classroom Math to drive strong implementation and use of the embedded RCL assessments, data and reports provided to you.
Focus: To provide professional development and ongoing support to the Hillcrest staff and students in implementing and showing academic grow and success utilizing Ready Classroom Math . This goal aligns to the Morris School District’s Way Forward.
Rationale: Based on Ready Classroom Math, and beginning of the year iReady math assessments, a focus on engaging instructional practice and use of RCL is needed. During the 2020-2021 school year, teachers received professional development in Ready Classroom Math. This professional development will continue during the 2021-2022 school year to provide teachers with strategies and tools for creating engaging instructional practices that support effective mathematics instructions.  
Smart Goal: By June 2022, the following will be noted on increasing iReady in the domains of Numbers and Operations and Algebra and Algebraic Thinking:
An increased average in the domains of Numbers and Operations and Algebra and Algebraic Thinking
Implementing Ready Math in all classrooms.
Action Steps:
Utilize Ready Classroom Look Fors for Teachers and Administrators
Facilitate Data Day discussions with classroom teachers during data days and PLC meetings.Link data review to teacher goals around fluency and critical early math prerequisite skills
Oversee the administration of the Ready Math curriculum
Attend Ready Math trainings throughout the school year during articulation Monday meetings
Provide ongoing professional development on r Ready Math usage and data to ensure full implementation
